Roger Sr. gave his lesson today on the question of “Where are You Spiritually?” and he began by looking at some of the death rates around the world by year, month, day, hour, minute, and second. Why? To remind us that we all have only a limited time to do what we do in life. For those of us who believe in God, that is a reminder that we have only a short time to accomplish what God expects of us.
He also talks about having a healthy spiritual growth in both young and older Christians. Are you growing? If you are not, you know what that means, right? It means we are dying.
God commands us to grow, not to just exist. Christ tells his followers to follow Him and imitate Him, just as He imitates His father.
Just like the feature image that Roger, Jr. selected for his dad’s lesson, we can’t hide from God. He knows what we are up to no matter where we are. Something we should all think of more often.
We must not survive only on “milk” but move on to “meat” with regard to the “food” of the Bible. We must grow and do so on “meat”. If a person goes back to drinking only milk they will fade away – but may have strong bones and teeth! 🙂
Paul strives on for the mark of the high calling of God for as long as he is here. But many waxes dull and fail to keep trying to follow God and shine their lights as God expects, especially for those who are older.
