Watching Out for Briers Lessons – 05/20/12

Roger and Abe’s lessons for Sunday were entitled “Watching Out for Briers”. No, not the banjo playing, deep-woods Appalachians, but the thorny kind of briers.

We’ve all had to deal with getting caught in a brier or two as we hike, fish, or work around the house. This lesson draws some spiritual thoughts on how life has ‘briers’ of its own to latch onto us when we are trying to do what God asks us to do, and slow us down, or even stop us. It also illustrates the risks for those around us and how we all need to be watching out for one another. All it takes is one thorn to catch us…
