The Righteousness of Solomon’s Conclusions + Strength in Sharing Our Faith

Jim Grushon visited us today with his wife Pam and his father Jim and reflected on when he was a boy attending Waynesville. His father and other Christians helped start the work at Waynesville many years ago and have been a great example, father, and friend to many in the area.

In Jim’s first lesson, he noted the wisdom of Solomon in following his father as a leader, but more so in following God. When Solomon was young he asked for wisdom in leading God’s people Israel and did not ask for wealth or power. God granted him what he requested and so much more. But Solomon failed his father in not staying close to God. Instead, he did what many of us do, get distracted by the physical things in life and forgets about the one constant Who is always there for us, God.

But even though Solomon spent most of his life in sin, before he died he came back to realize the value of following God over chasing the physical things in life. Only one was eternal.

For the second lesson, Jim’s own father served as the type of example the lesson was about in using Strength in Sharing Our Faith.

Why are we so shy about saying we are with God? GOD! Think about that! Some have to learn to have that strength, others have it and lose it. We all need to trust more in the things we believe in when there are SO many things to confirm our belief.

Both lessons are recorded below for you to download or listen to. If you are struggling with the things that sent Solomon off the rails, or tend to be shy about your faith, both of these lessons can help to make you stronger.
