In an effort to encourage and exhort the congregation in Waynesville to focus on who they can be , not who they are not, Roger presented two lessons on “The ‘Little People'” today.

The lessons were not on the Little People toy brand for children ages 6–36 months and to ages 3 and up, originally produced by Fisher-Price, Inc. in the 1960s as the Play Family People. Nor were the lessons about The Littles, an animated television series originally produced between 1983 and 1985. That cartoon was based on the characters from The Littles, a series of children’s novels by American author John Peterson, the first of which was published in 1967. Nor were the lessons about the Munchkins from the Wizard of Oz, or the dwarves from the Hobbit or Snow White. They weren’t on the movie Darby O’Gill and the Little People from 1959.

So who are we talking about today?

The answer to that question can be seen and heard in the recordings below, in the slideshow gallery, or by reading the text file of both lessons. There are a LOT of scriptures used in the lessons as well as a lot of notes from Halley’s Bible Handbook and other sources. But I feel all who listen or read will be encouraged by what these ‘little people’ did to get a mention in the text of the New Testament. They are no different than us if we try.
