Mark 1:14-15 – “Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came to Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.”

Lesson One:
The Gospel
People who believe in the bible spend a great deal of time talking about the gospel.
- The Greek word for gospel is euggelion.
- It as most of you know means simply good news, good tidings or good message.
- As used in the New Testament, it is the good news about Christ.
- It is used 77 times in the New Testament.
- As we study this word, we can learn much about what it means, when it was first proclaimed and why it is so important to us today.
- Facts of the gospel explained in many places including 1 Corinthians 15:1-4.
1 Corinthians 15:1-4 – “Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you–unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures”
