Teamwork

Today Kyle presented a lesson on TEAMWORK to the congregation at Waynesville. His lesson’s PowerPoint slides began with an image of people and gears to help illustrate why teamwork is so important to any group or goal.

He also cited the wise statement that “There is no I in TEAM”. So true. I can be part of a team, but I need to function with it. He also noted that a group with good team skills can be wonderful and used a passage in Ecclesiastes 4 to make his points.

Then Kyle moved to the New Testament to look at Jesus’ team and how they were selected and how they worked for Him. He also takes a look at how many fishermen there were in the pages of scripture!

Fishing is truly a teamwork trade, at least it was when the disciples were doing it. Parts of a team in the church are described in Ephesians 4:1-16.

A photo of one of the oldest known church buildings for the church of Christ in AL was shared along with the historical placard. Another location from Paris, KY was also shared. All locations of churches — teams.

Part of good teamwork is to preserve the team. The church, one of the most important teams, needs us to consider one another, to be sure we are doing what the gospel directs us to do, noting that we have many members – all with various talents, but all the single body of Jesus.

A recording of Kyle’s lesson is below along with his slides.
