Resurrection

Abe’s lessons today were on the resurrection of the dead, through God, by the hands of men from both the old and new testaments. The first lesson was also a primer to illustrate the Power needed for anyone to truly be redeemed.

For true redemption from sin (‘missing the mark’), it would take more than a mere human being to accomplish the task. It is simply not in the hands of mankind to work that sort of power – life over death. But that very Power was demonstrated in both old and new testaments by God’s chosen leaders, and it is that Power that we can take solace in knowing that our obedience to God’s word can save us after life. It is the Power that prevented Christ from seeing corruption after death, and it is Him that is our Guarantor of our own salvation – IF we follow the instructions of the Gospel.

The second lesson followed to show how the soul and spirit and how they differ and are alike. We see how the body is temporal and made from dust for which it returns, but the soul lives on – at a place determined by the life of the follower (or disobedient to) of God.

Recordings of both lesson can be heard by clicking the link below. If you would like to have an outline of either lesson, or discuss the topics discussed in more detail, please use our Contact page to let us know what lesson you want a copy for.
