Who is “antichrist”?
1 John 2:18-19 – “Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us.”
1 John 2:22-25 – “Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son. Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also. Therefore let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father. And this is the promise that He has promised us—eternal life.”
Many of us think of “antichrist” as a terrible person who lived back in the time of Christ’s disciples. We don’t think of someone who is alive today, or at least most of us don’t. The “antichrist” is closer to us that we may be aware of. In fact, some of the closest people in your life may be exhibiting “antichrist” behavior, putting you and your loved ones in peril.
So how can you tell who is “antichrist”? What can we look out for to tip us off? Roger’s lessons below try to help us see who is “antichrist” and how we can recognize them, and ensure we don’t get deceived by them.
Recordings of both lessons are below, followed by images of lesson PowerPoint slides so you can follow along.
