On February 21st, Kyle presented a lesson titled, “Let It Shine”. His lesson began by sharing the view from an officer that often parks outside his property to catch speeding drivers and how every Sunday that driver sees Kyle and his family heading to church. As he noted it is his hope that the officer notices that and might consider that for him or herself.
The theme of the lesson is letting our lights shine before others to glorify God.
Kyle looks back to Genesis to note how important light was to the creation and spiritually how important light is to us in regard to showing us what we need or may be lacking.
In Matthew 5 Kyle touched on the hill that cannot be hidden and that evil and light are opposed to one another. Darkness has blinded many and can blind good people.
We need to be wary of having the darkness overtake us spiritually, remembering that Jesus is the light of the world and there is no darkness in God!
The lesson concludes by looking at what photos without much light can show and how bright the “world’s brightest flashlight” really is!
Kyle returns to Matthew, this time in chapter 13 to show that the righteous will shine like the sun and with God, the darkness does not exist.
