Have you ever failed to keep a promise to someone? Like me, I bet you have failed in this endeavor a few times in your life too. But like me, I feel you have TRIED to keep that promise, right?
What if everyone in our lives who promised us something failed to keep that promise? Where would we be? Some promises are not so much an “I promise to do this” type of promise, but an expectation of what someone will do for us.
Like your parents, or teacher, or boss. You just know they will do something and they do. It is when we expect something, especially when we are told we’ll get it, that we feel the pain of broken promises. From friendship, to dating, to plans, lots of us promise things but many are let down in the process.
God never lets ANYONE down. Ever. It is we humans who are notoriously bad at doing what we say. Sometimes people even swear by powers greater than they that they will do what they promise. But they still fail.
