Jonah & Saying No to God

Mark shared two very good lessons for us today. The first lesson was entitled “Jonah” as he had us take a look at the story and book of Jonah to see how this man can still be an example of both good and bad behavior before God and man. His second lesson follows the first nicely, entitled “Saying No to God”. Jonah said NO to God and realized he could not escape God or being chastened for trying. Like Jonah, we too can say NO to God, but our prices for disobedience is significantly more – even if we don’t see it at the moment.

Jonah 1:1-4 (NKJV) – “Now the word of the Lord came to Jonah the son of Amittai, saying, “Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry out against it; for their wickedness has come up before Me.” But Jonah arose to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord. He went down to Joppa, and found a ship going to Tarshish; so he paid the fare, and went down into it, to go with them to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord. But the Lord sent out a great wind on the sea, and there was a mighty tempest on the sea, so that the ship was about to be broken up.”…

Recordings of both lesson and slides are below. Yes, sadly there are still some issues with our recordings either with microphone settings or battery. So audio volume and/or recording may be intermittent.
