How Shall the Young Secure Their Hearts?

Abe’s lesson for today was for the young people – but not entirely. When we look at the question of ‘how shall the young secure their hearts?’ we know that kids don’t often take initiative on their own (very often). It is parents, family, and friends who introduce kids to things that other want them to learn, or kids see something interesting and want to learn on their own.

When we talk about spiritual things, there is only one way for any of us to know if our hearts are secure in God. We do that by looking at His Word and seeing if we are meeting the qualifications for entry into His kingdom.

Kids will only do this (again, in most cases) when caring parents raise them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4). But teaching young people is not enough, they need to see in us a godly lifestyle, and devotion to God too. Then we need to be sure we show they what God’s word says about His blessings and punishment, as well as what He has in store for those who remain faithful.

Recordings of both lessons are below, as is a slideshow of Abe’s PowerPoint presentation. Just start the audio, and you can advance the slideshow to follow along. Audio files can be downloaded and there is a volume too. Send us any questions or comments you have!
