Kyle and Roger consulted ideas for this week’s lessons, and Kyle described a lesson he’d been working on based on batteries and how we perceive them. The main focus was that some batteries can be very large, but are not so powerful, or are quickly depleted. Where other batteries can be considerably smaller, yet much more powerful and long-lasting. The focus would be on size versus ability. He would contrast Christians that many look to as ‘strong’ or ‘capable’ perhaps even ‘unbreakable’ who in all cases were not what they seemed. Likewise, many unassuming Christians can be meek and lowly in the eyes of many, yet be the very glue that holds a congregation together.
Roger would be taking us through a visual look at the types of power that people can tap into (willingly or accidentally!). Just as Kyle took a metaphoric look at batteries and Christians, Roger did the same but with power sources (good and bad). We looked at what we can distill in the comparisons to what sound Christians should be trying to tap into and avoid.
