God’s Power to Save

A few months ago, our preacher Abe Martin was invited to go with member Cody Cain to India to work with a preacher there named Prem whom Cody had been friends with for some time. Over the past several years, the growth in the church in India has been substantial due to tireless workers like Prem.

The congregation at Waynesville was approached to see about funding part of the trip for Abe to go along with Cody, and on December 2nd, Abe, Cody and David Graham all few to India for nearly 3 weeks of teaching the gospel, training men to teach and preach from the Bible, and to help better educate some of the churches that are in the area on 100% New Testament teaching.

In the process of the time there, all those involved felt greatly encouraged and brought us back some great stories of the mission work there. The more I hear, the more I think about what Paul and other Apostles did to help spread the gospel in the early church!

Today, Abe’s lessons on “God’s Power to Save” tell a bit about his trip, what they went through, the people in India, and why the gospel is making such an impact there. Since most of the trip involved a LOT of walking, hiking, and climbing, often late at night, the trip was said to be a good for the waistline too! :^)

The congregation at Waynesville would like to thank Abe, Cody, and David for doing this good work, as well as brother Prem in India. While Abe, Cody, and David were worn-out on the trip, Prem was the interpreter for all 3 men and for all those they studied with! While Abe and Cody were out of the country, Kyle and Roger filled in for lessons, as did others for class and table duties. These men’s families also stepped-up to fill in for them while they were away. Thank God all went well (including the scary drive home in the snow and ice – ask Abe or Cody about that).
