Romans 7:17-19 – “But now, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find. For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice.”
This is one of my favorite passages in the New Testament. Paul, inspired writer of most of the New Testament, reminds us that he too struggled with sin. Not only that, but we see the same issues most of us face, the desire and will to do good, but the often realized issue of failure.
God did not make the apostles perfect, He just gave them perfect clarity on what we and they SHOULD do.
John 16:13 – “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.”
Every person is responsible for their own success.
