In a follow-up to Abe’s lessons on the ‘collective’ with regard to what Christians can do as ‘the church’ versus what we have liberty to do as individuals, the lessons today focus on the individual. The lessons look at individuals in the New Testament such as Paul or Peter and we examine how the church then did things both individually and as the church. There are things that can be done as individuals that are not shown to be permitted as individuals. In a time where so many ‘churches’ spend funds from the contributions of members for so many non-spiritual or religious activities, this lesson is very relevant today. As we try to do for every lesson, we look to see what the Bible says about things like this and then try to do them, and teach them to others.
The recording for lesson one is below. Lesson two was not recorded. Slides for both lessons are at bottom.
