Christ set the perfect example for children. On earth, He always obeyed the Father. He kept His commands even unto death. Even though He was the express image of God, the Word, He came to do the will of the Father.

With this in mind, it should be easier for young people who are of understanding to follow the rules of the parents, especially when those parents are Christians trying their best to follow God. Sometimes young people think they are not only equal to their parents, but smarter. Even if that were true, if you follow the example of Christ, you will obey.

As we have in the other lessons, we will look at Christ first as the example for young people and children or young people’s responsibilities in the next lesson.
