Christ Receives Sinners

Cody presented a lesson on November 21st on why Christ came to earth and to mankind in his lesson entitled, “Christ Receives Sinners”.

The lesson focuses on Luke chapter 15 in looking at the parables of the Lost Sheep, the Lost Coin, and the Prodigal Son.

In the Lost Sheep segment, he noted how important sheep were to the Jews for food, clothing, and especially for sacrifices.

In the Lost Coin segment, he noted what the coins were and why they were so important to the woman who lost them, and also how small they were.

In the Prodigal Son lesson, he focuses on the three main characters: The two sons and the father — who they were in the story and in the meaning for the listeners. So often we focus on the prodigal son and the dad, but we miss the lesson on the older brother who never left the home.
