Beating Cancer with God’s Help

Kaylee-and-Nick

“Kaylee gave Nick [her dad] the very best birthday gift of all… Clear MRI scans of brain and spine and no cancer cells found in her spinal fluid!!! Praise God a million times over and thankful everyday that we made the decision to move to Memphis and have Kaylee treated at St. Jude. We have struggled, especially recently with being away from home but hearing this news makes all of it more than worth it. Thank you all for your continued prayers! Please join me in thanking our loving God for answering our prayers! Love you all.”

“Who knew that Kaylee wearing a new back pack would make me cry. New back pack for a new school year. Last school year ended up being the most devastating year we could have ever imagined. I remember taking Kaylee to visit her friends and teachers at school a couple of weeks after her brain surgery and thinking, this may be the last year she will attend school. I remember it taking every ounce of control I could muster to not break down and cry. I wanted that day to be the most wonderful day of school ever. Her doctors in Denver were so bleak. Her doctors here (and God of course) have given her another year of school to start. With a new back pack and all. I have always hated the task of back to school shopping. This year I embrace it with a new outlook and a joyful heart. Try to enjoy back to school shopping this year because if it was gone wouldn’t you miss it?”

Back in December of 2014, Kayla (Jones) Barnes told us about a little girl that she got to know while living out west. The girl, Kaylee, was diagnosed with brain cancer. Immediately many prayers were requested for her and her family. Her parents moved to Tennessee to get Kaylee to the best doctors possible. Now many months (and prayers) later, Kaylee has been given the all clear for now! She still has more chemo to undergo, and her current treatments were said to be hard on her, but she has made amazing progress and we should all be thankful to God for blessing this young woman and her family. God is good!
