Anger Management

Today Cody gave a lesson on “Anger Management” and why that is important to us as humans and as Christians. This lesson is on the heels of his other lessons from the book of Colossians, starting off from Colossians 3:8.

The lesson jumps into a study of the Greek language as used in the early church – words like “orge” and “thumos”. Per the subject of the lesson, he shares passages from the Bible that warn and remind us that being angry is not a sin, but we can sin because we don’t control our anger.

We are also reminded that vengeance is not for the people of God, even if they are wronged or falsely treated. Old and New Testament affirm that God will repay those who have wronged us. So we need to be content with that.

Cody then goes into a look at ways to control or get rid of our anger – if that is possible?

Next, we look at some other Greek words like “kakia” and “blasphemia” as well as “aischrologia”. Do you know what those words mean? You might be able to see some of the meaning in the English versions of each.

The lesson continues to look deeper at the book of Colossians, now at 3:9-11 as he brings up more Greeg… “apekduomai”, “eduo”, “enduo”, and “epignosis”. The last word in Greek used has to do with how we are to represent God.

How are you doing?

A recording of this lesson and the slides are below. We hope you’ll take the time to review.
