For August, Roger Jr. chose to do his lesson about “Wisdom & Knowledge” after some lesson topic requests from his wife, Patty. Roger noted that no matter how “smart” we feel we are, there is SO MUCH we don’t know, or need to know better. God is simply amazing and what He has granted to us to know has been such a blessing.

Roger begins in the garden of Eden and based on Genesis 1:28 God told man to “subdue” the earth. Next, Roger looks at some of the great inventions and discoveries over the past several thousand years. Then he looks at how God’s own people, the Jews, were said to be destroyed for a lack of knowledge.

Roger then goes on to show that even in the Children of Israel, knowledge and wisdom was very important and that arrogance and proud attitudes are not acceptable to God. But we can ask Him for help and if we don’t doubt we can get God to help.

Solomon was granted wisdom and knowledge like no other then or now, because he did not ask for wealth or riches, but discernment. As Paul writes in Colossians, we can be filled with knowledge and spiritual understanding if that is our goal.
