Today, Kyle presented a lesson on “Boredom” but not the lesson you might expect given the subject!
He begins by looking at the world we live in today, a world of COVID, of wars and riots, of stay at home everything, and a world often in crisis. He notes that many of us are burning the candle not only at both ends but in the middle too!
Add social media to the picture and it seems we never have any downtime for ourselves. So what can we do? Kyle says to “Embrace Boredom”. The fact we can take time to be bored is a gift we often fail to acknowledge.
We can redeem the time, we can try to be well-pleasing to God, but there are some things we can’t control. In these places, we need to be more patient as life is brief and tomorrow has its own trouble. So why not give our minds a break?
He shares stats on how addicted to our smartphones we are and the numbers are incredible. But looking at Ecclesiastes 3, we can see that everything has its time. We need to cast our problems on God and spend time in prayer and meditation.
