Roger’s lesson today began as a different study, but due to the number of times his other lesson came back to the first chapter of Ephesians, he just decided to do a lesson on that!
He also decided to do an expository lesson on this chapter. But instead of doing it based on life experience or understanding, Roger used other scripture to ‘expose’ the things that Paul talks about in his letter to the Ephesian church (and us today).
He begins by looking at 5 types of expository writing styles and then focuses on the last one, How-to/Process.
One of the most notable things Roger takes a look at is the way that Paul greets his readers in the many books that he wrote. It shows Paul’s love for the churches he writes, but also shows how he recognizes Christ, God, his role, and his desire for the churches that he writes to love, grow, and be strong in their faith.
We encourage you to follow along as you listen to the lesson as the slides of scriptures and images that feature places or the metaphors of what is being discussed are shared.
If you have questions or comments after you hear the lesson, please contact us and Roger will be happy to discuss with you.
